Indoor plant watering systems allow individuals to go on trips for extended lengths of time without killing off the plants in their home. It also gives them the freedom to go on these trips without having to find someone to come into the home to water the plants. Someone that is unfamiliar with the plants will not necessarily do the watering correctly and may end up killing the plants more so than if they were left on their own. There are many different types of plant watering systems that individuals can either buy or make from scratch, depending on their skills and the types of plants that they need to water. There are also indoor plant watering hoses that are useful for watering larger plants that cannot be placed under a faucet but also require much more water than is available in a watering can.

Types Of Indoor Plant Watering System

One type of indoor plant watering system is one that a person can make for himself. The water tap watering system has a water tap that is in the soil of the plant container. The tap is basically a small tube that is connected to the base of a water reservoir. The tap is placed into the soil after it is seen how much water is allowed to flow through the tap. These taps can be bought in the local garden supply store for use with the water reservoir. The water releases in about thirty second intervals, allowing drips of water to flow into the soil. In this way, the soil is kept moist but not drenched during the time that the person is gone on the trip.

Another version of the indoor plant watering system is where the plants are all fitted with a wick, which is usually made of some sort of absorbent material that will easily allow water to pass through it. This wick is pressed into the soil at the roots, through the bottom of the container, and into the reservoir of water that is below it. The wick will then draw water up into the container where the roots are when the roots become too dry. This is a very inexpensive system to use since the wicks can be bought at any garden supply store and the reservoir can be made out of any spare container in the home or office. The only drawback to this system is that sometimes there are drips that will come down and damage any wood or other material that is around the plant.
