Is your soil not suitable in terms of nutrients for tomato growth? Do you need to deal with many pests that destroy your tomatoes right before picking time? Perhaps a garden is not even possible around your house or do not like the tomatoes that have absolutely no taste available in supermarkets. If any of these situations are reality for you then you should think about growing upside down tomatoes.
This can be achieved if you use a bucket. You just need a bucket of around 5 gallons, miracle grow soil, small drill, Spanish moss and the desired tomato species.
Obviously you will first need to buy buckets and they have to be of five gallons. It does need a lid and a handle. Usually one bucket just costs 1 dollar. Now use your drill to put in one small hole in the bucket’s bottom. It has to be just a little bit bigger than a quarter. Sharp edges can also be filed although it is not that necessary.
After all this is done we can get to planting. Put in the plant right through that bottom hole. The main plant will hang and the roots will always stay in soil. Spanish moss is to be used to wrap your tomato roots. The bottom should be filled up to 2 inches.
Now the next step is hanging your bucket from any tree limb. Fill it with soil that is suitable for growing tomatoes until the bucket is around 3 quarters full. Your new plant should be watered every day as summer can be hot. During fall less water is necessary. Keep in mind that your new upside down tomato plant will grow a lot so you need to make sure that you will support it as it grows. All your job is basically down and upside down tomato plants are now available.
